2005 Result

Onwards and upwards!

2005 Bike Run raises £11,000 !!

The majority of funds are now in from the Bike Run this year, and we are delighted to announce that we have raised over £11,000 for the good causes this year.

A small balance will be retained for expenses for next year's event.

The day of the bike run was warm and sunny, and we were pleased to see 300 cyclists participating in the event. As ever, there was a large range in times, from about one hour fifteen to over four hours, however all involved seemed to enjoy the day.

The water donated by Alan Grant Grampian and the bananas donated by the Alford Co-op were particularly welcome at the Towie water stop due to the high temperatures!

The Bike Run Disco held the following week at the Haughton Arms Hotel was a very successful evening, and many thanks are due to Billy and Mike the hotel owners for making it so enjoyable. The disco raised over £1,500 - many thanks to those who attended and to those who donated prices to the raffle and auction.

Planned improvements for next year's run include:

	Better sound during the raffle and auction (sorry about that)
	Digital time clock for accurate timings for those cyclists who are interested
	A new 12 mile route in addition to the 27 mile main route for those who want to have a go but are put off by the distance
	An improved children's route within Haughton Park
	A variety of stalls and events within the park to attract more people along to the park itself.
